Motor Racing India: How are you feeling after your first international podium?
Hari Krishnan: I feel extremely happy about my podium finish but I am not getting overexcited about it because for me this is just the first step towards success in International racing.I need to learn and grow lot more to be at a finest position. It could have been a maiden victory too,but nevertheless i am happy about the 2nd position.
MRI: Tell us about the battle you had in the race and that last corner move?
HK:I just wanted to attack the 1st rider by going inside him,but he was already some 10m away from me.And i was in the inner line.So braking so hard at that point will lead to crashing. So i made up my mind to finish in 2nd position and hence did it.And Aussie i never knew he was by my side.I was just focusing at the front.
MRI: The accident in Race 1?
HK:Aahhhhh...Race 1 crash was not of my mistake at all.I could have finished at-least 5th place in race1 and gained more points. It was my fellow Indian rider who braked so late and hard and took 3 other riders. So i was damn frustrated. But in racing these kind of things happens. So we have to just move on without thinking much about it.
MRI: How did your team feel about the podium?
HK:My team was super happy for me.They are the one behind this.I just convey my sincere thanks to Honda India and Ten10 Racing Academy and Asia Dream Cup team for supporting and mentoring me. Without them, this wouldn´t have happened.
MRI: When did you get into racing in India?
HK:I started my racing at age of 18.I never knew anyone in this field before and so I have to research and gather a lot information about it on my own and when i was into racing,it was already late compared to international riders.Because they start at age of 4 or 5.
MRI: How many and podiums wins did you get in India?
HK:5 wins and 12 podiums in India
MRI: When was your first international race?
HK:My first International race happened because of Honda(HMSI) & Ten10 Racing support and was on 17th April 2015 at Sepang International circuit. It was so new to me and was so excited to see how the competition is in International championships.
MRI: What you do apart from racing?
HK:As of now,I am totally into racing.I am trying to make a career out of it. It might sound weird for many, but seriously i am trying to make it my career. So lets see where it ends up one fine day.
MRI: What are your plans for the future?
HK: I wanted to move onto some world championships and win there. Its easy to say in words. But its a very huge process. Will take some years. But surely its possible.
